Gene Technologies are excited to announce the launch of G-Storm Rigid™ 96 & 384 well plates.
G-Storm RIGID™ 96 & 384 well plates are manufactured with a two-component design that benefits from the advantages of thin-walled tubes for optimum thermal performance together with a rigid platform for routine and reliable handling by robotic systems.
In production, a proprietary process is utilised to generate plates where the well wall thickness has been reduced to a minimum, but remain strong enough to cope with the rigors of plate life while thermal performance of the plate is maximised. This process enables G-Storm RIGID 96 & 384 well plates to be a perfect solution for fast reaction kinetics and small reaction volumes.
- No more plate warping and subsequent handling or sealing problems.
- Plates retain RIGID footprint before and after reactions.
- See an improvement in plate sealing results.
- Thin-wall design for fast reactions.
- Routine & reliable use with stackers and robots.
The dual element design of the G-Storm RIGID™ 96 & 384 well plates is such that the mechanical stability of the plate is superior when compared with traditional plates. G-Storm RIGID™ plates are not affected by warping, shrinkage or thermal distortion resulting in the following:
- Well spacing remain rigid enabling robotic systems to add and remove smallest quantities to or from the plates.
- Robotic arms can consistently grip
G-Storm RIGID plates.
- G-Storm RIGID plates do not stick in thermal cyclers or have problems with stacker instruments.
- Improved flatness of the G-Storm RIGID plates reduces potential variation of fluorescent signals in optical assays.
Another significant benefit of G-Storm RIGID plates is a marked improvement in sealing: During reactions, with either heat seals, foils or adhesive seals, thermal expansion/contraction of one-piece polypropylene plates, can result in loss of seal and therefore loss of sample. With the G-Storm RIGID plates the higher thermal stability results in a reliable seal in all areas of the plate during cycling and during cold storage
(-80°C).
G-Storm RIGID™ plates are manufactured in clean-room conditions in the most modern injection moulding facilities. Any airborne contaminants, bacterial cells or other particles are filtered to ensure that G-Storm RIGID plates are delivered in the very best condition and contamination free.
G-Storm RIGID™ plates have been designed predominantly for use on G-Storm Thermal Cyclers, but are designed such that they will perform superbly on the majority of commercially available thermal cyclers, so whichever cycler you choose, the G-Storm RIGID plate is the only plate that you will ever need!
